“I work up to a standard, not down to a price. At our firm, the money people spend on legal services is always justified by the results”
Lee Mullowney is a lawyer who cares –– about his clients and his community. His professional and personal philosophy is rooted in making meaningful change, whether he’s helping a business owner navigate a litigation matter or coaching future athletes at his sons’ schools.
As the founder and principal lawyer of Mullowney’s Law in Ottawa, his practice focuses mainly on contract law for small and mid-sized corporate/commercial clients as well as estate litigation and probate for individuals.

A strong business lawyer not only helps clients resolve their legal challenges; Lee also helps them mitigate risk and protect their investment. Whether a company is facing a breach of contract dispute or looking to spin off a new business, Lee’s clients appreciate his laser focus and ability to think critically and creatively.
Because estate litigation often involves disputes between family members, Lee understands that it’s important to have an empathetic advocate who sees beyond the emotion to identify the heart of the conflict. Executors, beneficiaries and claimants benefit from his ability to explain complex legal concepts in plain language as well as his pragmatic approach to settling cases efficiently.
Whether it’s a new business looking to draft supplier contracts or a family member who hasn’t been fairly treated in a deceased’s estate, Lee believes accessing legal services should be simple and straightforward. For more than 20 years, he’s been helping clients understand their legal rights and negotiating — or litigating when necessary — on their behalf.
Legal disputes are costly, time-consuming and often have far-reaching consequences for businesses and individuals. Wherever possible, Lee adopts a collaborative approach to resolve conflicts efficiently to deliver the best outcome for his clients.
As a volunteer lawyer at Law Help Ontario, an organization that provides free legal services to people of low and moderate income, Lee earned a reputation for settling cases quickly, often within the 30-minute window allotted for each client. His successful approach led to the creation of a professional development course for the organization, teaching lawyers how to effectively resolve cases in a summary environment
“Mr. Mullowney is a professional, knowledgeable and compassionate lawyer. He guided us through our case with language we could understand and a genuine concern for our problem. We are so thankful not only for the win but for his kindness during the entire process.”
