Dr Sofia Vorontsov
Sofia completed her Bachelor of Biomedical Science at Monash University, followed by an Honours Degree at the Australian Centre of Blood Diseases, attaining First Class Honours. In pursuit of her dream to study dentistry, she relocated to New South Wales to complete her post-graduate degree of Doctor of Dental Medicine at The University of Sydney.
Since graduating Sofia has gained invaluable experience working as the only full-time dentist at the Alfred Hospital. In her role she managed patients with complex medical needs, including solid organ and stem cell transplants, cancer and cardiac surgery. Her experience at the Alfred Hospital has solidified her passion for providing holistic dental care in the context of each individual’s overall health and well-being.
Sofia enjoys all areas of dentistry with a focus on preventative care. She is passionate about ensuring the patient experience is as comfortable as possible with her warm and caring nature. In particular, she feels very strongly about helping dentally anxious patients feel more at ease during dental visits and assist them in obtaining excellent oral health.
In her free time you will find Sofia cooking up a storm, ever increasing her cookbook collection and exploring Melbourne’s food scene. She is always looking for new dish recommendations!
